Our Safety Commitment

At Angel Endurance Coaching, safety isn't an afterthought—it's the foundation of every training plan.

Our mission is simple:

We use science to produce positive results while protecting the long-term health and well-being of every athlete.

Every workout, every recommendation, and every coaching decision is guided by one fundamental belief:

No workout, race, or performance goal is worth risking your health or safety.

Whether you're preparing for your first sprint triathlon or pursuing a World Championship qualification, our commitment remains the same—to help you improve through intelligent, evidence-based training while minimizing unnecessary risk.

Our Coaching Philosophy

At Angel Endurance Coaching, we believe that the best results come from consistent, purposeful training—not excessive training.

We use current coaching principles, sports science, and individualized programming to help athletes improve safely and sustainably.

Every athlete is unique. Training plans are built around your goals, experience, schedule, recovery, and lifestyle rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our Commitment to Every Athlete

When you train with Angel Endurance Coaching, you can expect us to:

  • Prioritize your health and safety above performance outcomes.

  • Develop individualized, science-based training plans.

  • Encourage honest and open communication.

  • Adjust training when life, injury, illness, or recovery requires it.

  • Promote long-term athletic development over short-term success.

  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive coaching environment.

  • Continue learning and applying current coaching best practices.

Your Commitment as an Athlete

Safe and effective coaching is a partnership.

We ask every athlete to:

  • Communicate honestly about training, fatigue, injuries, and illness.

  • Follow workout instructions to the best of your ability.

  • Use appropriate safety equipment for every activity.

  • Maintain your equipment in safe working condition.

  • Follow all applicable laws and local regulations.

  • Respect fellow athletes, coaches, volunteers, and the public.

  • Ask questions whenever instructions are unclear.

  • Make informed decisions based on current conditions.

Swim Safety

Swimming is an incredible sport, but it carries unique risks.

Angel Endurance Coaching encourages athletes to:

  • Never swim alone whenever possible.

  • Use lifeguarded facilities or swim with a partner when appropriate.

  • Wear a brightly colored swim buoy during open-water training when appropriate.

  • Be aware of water temperature, currents, tides, and weather conditions.

  • Exit the water immediately if conditions become unsafe.

  • Follow facility rules and lifeguard instructions at all times.

  • Surface frequently during underwater training. Breath-holding exercises should always be performed conservatively to reduce the risk of shallow water blackout.

Cycling Safety

Cycling often presents the highest level of risk in triathlon training.

We encourage every athlete to:

  • Always wear a properly fitted helmet.

  • Obey traffic laws.

  • Ride predictably.

  • Use front and rear lights when visibility is reduced.

  • Wear high-visibility clothing when appropriate.

  • Inspect your bicycle before every ride.

  • Carry identification and emergency contact information.

  • Stay alert and avoid distractions while riding.

  • Choose routes appropriate for your experience level and current conditions.

Running Safety

During run training, we encourage athletes to:

  • Be aware of traffic and surroundings.

  • Wear reflective clothing in low-light conditions.

  • Stay hydrated.

  • Modify workouts during extreme weather.

  • Carry identification during longer runs.

  • Run with a partner whenever practical.

  • Trust your instincts and avoid unsafe situations.

Heat, Weather & Environmental Conditions

Environmental conditions can change rapidly.

Athletes should modify, postpone, or cancel training when conditions become unsafe, including:

  • Lightning

  • Extreme heat

  • Dangerous humidity

  • Severe cold

  • Ice

  • Flooding

  • Hurricanes

  • Tornadoes

  • Wildfire smoke

  • Poor air quality

  • Dangerous water conditions

No scheduled workout is more important than your personal safety.

Listen to Your Body

Athletes know their bodies better than anyone.

Stop exercising immediately and seek appropriate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as:

  • Chest pain

  • Severe shortness of breath

  • Dizziness

  • Fainting

  • Loss of consciousness

  • Confusion

  • Sudden vision changes

  • Severe allergic reactions

  • Symptoms of heat illness

When in doubt, stop the workout.

Missing one workout is always preferable to risking a serious injury or medical emergency.

Respect and Sportsmanship

Angel Endurance Coaching is committed to providing a positive environment for athletes of every background, ability, race, nationality, religion, gender identity, and sexual orientation.

Harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, retaliation, or abusive behavior have no place in our coaching community.

We believe respect is earned through integrity, professionalism, and sportsmanship.

Lifelong Learning

Sports science continues to evolve, and so do we.

We are committed to continuing education, evidence-based coaching practices, and continually improving our knowledge so our athletes receive the highest quality coaching possible.

Our Promise

At Angel Endurance Coaching, success is measured by more than race results.

It is measured by healthier athletes, smarter training, increased confidence, and sustainable progress.

We are committed to helping every athlete become stronger, more resilient, and more confident while protecting what matters most—their health and well-being.

Train with purpose. Train with confidence. Train safely.

“Our number one principle”

”We strive to produce positive results through science, intelligent, individualized specilized coaching— while always placing every athlete safety, health, and long-term success above short-term performance.””
